When I got my copy of Breaking Breads for review, I was literally awestruck. Every page I turned it was like I must bake this and second thought was this should be first. But once I saw orange and dark chocolate challah, I was in obligation mode. Spring is finally here. Tree in front of my house is in full bloom, looking very beautiful. Bees are humming over it and doing their work of pollination. I mean who doesn’t love spring huh? But alas with all the green grass around, the temperature here in Michigan are still hovering in 60s. This soup captures all the elements from current weather. Located at The Walk of Dubai’s JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) this Bateel is brightly lit with bare floor and a modern clean feel. A flagship store, it has everything, a dates boutique, bakery and a cafe all under one roof. You are seduced into the world of dates, which for most people is just a mundane piece of dried fruit. With the hustle and bustle of JBR outside gives the place a lively feel.
This is a scheduled post while I am enjoying the 80 plus weather in Dubai. Winters are still hanging here in Michigan. A sunny cold day makes me think about rich, buttery and crunchy melt in mouth delicious toffee. This is a kind of treat where you can’t control to eat just a small piece.
